The Medicare carrier (Palmetto GBA ) covering North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia has published a local carrier determination concerning appropriate use and required documentation for special stains, including in dermatopathology.
ASDP believes this may be of interest to dermatopathologists beyond the local Palmetto GBA coverage area since policies originating in one Medicare coverage region may be adopted by other carriers.

ASDP has been granted Accreditation with Commendation from the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). ASDP’s new accreditation term is valid until Nov. 30, 2020.
