ASDP September 2010 Newsletter
President's Message
The ASDP is
undergoing many changes that will make us a better and stronger Society.
At the upcoming Annual Meeting, the membership will vote to approve
proposed bylaws that will broaden the scope of the ASDP and allow
greater opportunities for participation, including the creation of an
elected Board of Directors. You will note that future annual meetings
will have greater educational participation from volunteers, including
new Consultation sessions and Short Courses, chosen from proposals by
at-large members of our Society. This year's meeting will also
have a strong international presence, including invited expert lecturers
from around the globe.
We are also in the midst of Strategic Planning, a full evaluation of the
all workings and offerings of our Society, carried out in conjunction
with the aid of an expert organizational analyst. To this end, an ASDP
Strategic Planning Task Force will hold a retreat in Chicago this fall.
We need your continued help in identifying areas in which ASDP can
improve. Many thanks to those of you who have offered your suggestions.
Keep them coming!
Looking forward to seeing you in Atlanta.
Earl J. Glusac, MD
President
