ASDP LectureshipsASDP Lecctureships were established to honor excellence in the field of dermatopathology. About the Elson B. Helwig Memorial Lecture The first Helwig Lecturer was David Weedon who spoke on "Looking Backwards, Thinking Forwards: A Polemic Perspective on Politics, Professionalism, and Dermatopathology" at the 37th Annual Meeting held in October 2000 in Baltimore, Maryland. See the list of Special Guest Lectures and Elson B. Helwig Memorial lectures. About the Hermann Pinkus Memorial
Lecture The official and formal purpose of the Pinkus Memorial Lecture is to nominate and select a basic scientist with an established record of research funding and preferably, but not necessarily, a non-member of the Society. The lecture shall be based on the rigorous, scientific nature of the lecture topic. The ASDP Committee on Peer Review nominates and votes on individuals who fit the criteria of the official and formal purpose of the lectureship. In 2010, the format of the Hermann Pinkus Memorial Lecture was changed to encompass a wider range of scientific topics that relate to the field of dermatopathology and became the Hermann Pinkus Basic Science Course. See the list of Hermann Pinkus Basic Science Courses and Memorial Lectures. |
