ASDP membership is open to those certified in Dermatopathology or possess certification in Pathology or Dermatology, and being a resident or fellow in training in an approved dermatopathology program; or MD, PhD, DVM, DO, DDS or other comparable doctorate individuals who demonstrate special expertise in pathology of the skin or research therein.

Application process: Your completed application will be reviewed by the Membership Committee, Board of Directors, and voted upon by the General Membership at the next Annual meeting. Your application must be received by August 31, 2011, if you wish to apply for membership this year.

Member Categories

FELLOW

Individuals eligible for consideration shall possess the following qualifications:
  1. American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) Certification in Pathology or Dermatology;
  2. American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS)Certification in Dermatopathology; and
  3. Demonstrated interest in the practice and/or teaching of dermatopathology
  4. Letters of endorsement from three Fellows of theSociety

A $55 application fee, payable to The American Society of Dermatopathology, is due upon application submittal. Upon acceptance, annual dues of $390 will include a subscription to the Journal of Cutaneous Pathology.

ASSOCIATE

Individuals eligible for consideration shall possess the following qualifications:
  1. Certification in dermatology or pathology and participation as a resident or fellow-in-training in an approved Dermatopathology program; or MD, PhD, DVM, DDS, or other comparable doctorate and special expertise in pathology of the skin or research therein;
  2. Letters of endorsement from three Fellows of the Society.

A $55 application fee, payable to The American Society of Dermatopathology, is due upon application submittal. Upon acceptance, annual dues of $390 will include a subscription to the Journal of Cutaneous Pathology.

NON-RESIDENT ASSOCIATE

Individuals eligible for consideration shall possess the following qualifications:
  1. Be a practicing dermatopathologist who resides outside the North American continent and holds an American or foreign specialty certificate in pathology or dermatology;
  2. Letter of endorsement from a Fellow of the Society and two letters of support from colleagues who are familiar with the applicant's work.

A $55 application fee, payable to The American Society of Dermatopathology, is due upon application submittal. Upon acceptance, annual dues are $100 (in U.S. dollars). A subscription to the Journal of Cutaneous Pathology is made directly to the publisher and can be obtained at a reduced rate.

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS
All applications and supporting material are due no later than August 31 of each year. The applications are reviewed by the Membership Committee, and voted upon by the Board of Directors and general membership at the annual meeting.
