Melissa P. Piliang, MD

Secretary-Treasurer Elect

Dr. Melissa Piliang joined the staff at Cleveland Clinic after completing both a residency in dermatology and a fellowship in dermatopathology at the Cleveland Clinic. She is a graduate of Indiana University School of Medicine and Purdue University.  Her areas of interest are dermatopathology and general medical dermatology, with a special interest in alopecias and androgen disorders. 
Dr. Piliang has authored numerous scientific papers and textbook chapters. At Cleveland Clinic, she is Vice Chair of Education in the Dermatology and Plastic Surgery Institute and serves as associate program director for the dermatopathology fellowship. She also chairs the Dermatology Education Committee, and organizes the dermatopathology curriculum for the dermatology residents. 
Dr. Piliang is active in American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society of Dermatopathology where she served as a Board member and most recently Secretary Treasurer-Elect, Delegate to the AMA House of Delegates, chairs the Health Policy Work Value Committee, and was the inaugural co-chair of the Young Physicians’ Committee. Dr. Piliang has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the WDS and as President of the Ohio Dermatologic Association having previously served as a Trustee, Treasurer and Secretary.
