ASDP is dedicated to improving quality of lives by continually advancing the theory and practice of dermatopathology. ASDP membership is open to individuals who are certified in Dermatopathology or possess certification in Pathology or Dermatology, residents and fellows-in-training who are enrolled in an approved dermatopathology program, and individuals who demonstrate special expertise in pathology of the skin or research therein.

Membership Pricing and Requirements

Fellow - $480 
(First Year in Practice Discount - $245 / Retired Discount - $115)

Fellow applicants must:

  • be fully licensed to practice medicine in a state, territory, or province of competent jurisdiction;
  • be certified in Pathology or Dermatology by the American Board of Medical Specialties ("ABMS") or an American Osteopathic Association (AOA) Specialty Certifying Board;
  • be certified by the ABMS or an AOA Specialty Certifying Board in Dermatopathology; and
  • have a demonstrated interest in the practice and/or teaching of dermatopathology.

*ASDP membership dues are not deductible as a charitable contribution for federal income tax purposes, but may be partially deducted as a business expense. Members should check with their respective tax accountants or attorneys for allowable deductions. ASDP estimates that 0% of membership dues are allocated to lobbying activities of the ASDP.

Deadline for Submission of Applications

Applications and supporting materials are due by March 31, June 30, September 30 or December 31 of each year. Applications meeting the membership criteria stated in the bylaws and reviewed by the Membership Committee will be recommended for ratification by the ASDP Board of Directors. Application reviews are performed quarterly; in January, April, July and October.
